A sensitive tip is important!

The tip has to be sensitive enough to feel and react to the tiniest of bites. Timid feeling fish lift or push the jig forward. If the fisherman is not awake or is using poor equipment, the fish will go free. Another important factor in the rod tip, is the jig swimming motion. When you are ice fishing with a balance jig, the rod tip should be very sensitive, but still firm, so that all the movements from the fisherman transmit to the lure.
